Flash Media Server 3.5 offers some powerful new features such as improved H.264 performance, “DVR” functionality, Dynamic Streaming, and HTTP delivery (Apache server built in). For more info, visit http://www.adobe.com/go/fms.
The licensing costs have stayed the same, at $4,500 for Flash Media Interactive Server and $999 for Flash Media Streaming Server. The Developer edition is still free, and allows 10 simultaneous connections (can be used for commercial deployments).
Flash Media Live Encoder has also been upgraded, with support for multiple bitrate encoding (to take advantage of Dynamic Streaming in FMS 3.5), an updated user interface, enhanced auto-adjust capabilities to accommodate fluctuation in your connection when encoding, and improved file and stream management including file “chunking”.
Big day for Flash media — happy downloading!

I’m trying to use FMLE 3 for
URL REMOVEDand yahoo instant messenger. where do I get the fms url for these programs?@Preston I’m not sure what you’re asking exactly… do you have FMLE 3 installed, or are you looking to download it?
For me it works fine.
Thank you.
Michael
its an FMS URL for Skype plugin like for H.264 on justin.tv only for webcam chats, or even recording H.264 video recorder….. Is there anything like that in the future for such programs?
@Lisa Larson~Kelley
Does FMLE support motion detect by itself?
No, FMLE doesn’t have built in motion detection, that logic needs to be built in ActionScript.
A quick question: does FMS or FMLE has anything to do with STB (set-top-boxes)? In other words does FMS/FMLE are deployed on IPTV’s STBs?
Thanks in advance
Flash Media Server (FMS) can deliver streams to STB, if it is running Flash Player. Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) is a Mac/Windows desktop encoding application that takes a video stream and sends it to FMS to be streamed to Flash Player clients. Neither FMS nor FMLE would actually run on a STB. They would be used on other platforms and servers to deliver content TO a STB.
Hope that helps clarify.
cheers,
// Lisa
